业务挑战
Wickes was using several legacy on-premises forecasting and replenishment systems. Not only were these systems aging and in need of modernization, but the planning process was inhibited by the need to run multiple forecasts across multiple systems to cover 2.4 million live item locations. The process proved too manual and did not support strategic planning. Wickes needed a SaaS-based, end-to-end planning system. A corporate demerger from its former parent company, Travis Perkins, meant the retailer had to decommission its existing systems and build its own IT infrastructure—a complete refresh from scratch.
解决方案
Wickes wanted a modern forecasting and replenishment solution that could support its growth by allowing for multi-channel forecasting and efficient omni-channel fulfillment. The company chose Blue Yonder for its machine learning (ML) driven demand and fulfillment capabilities to quickly pivot and forecast consumers’ rapidly changing shopping patterns, thereby addressing demand and accurately aligning product availability and supply. The solution, powered by Microsoft Azure, was implemented by the Blue Yonder Professional Services team remotely during the 2020 global pandemic.
“Blue Yonder plays a significant role in our productivity improvements and operational efficiencies, leading to high in-store shelf availability, allowing us to sell more whilst holding less stock.”
